Hi there and thanks for stopping by!
Today I’m sharing a funny birthday card made using the Flora Cat Play stamp set by Waffle Flower. I have to say – it’s one of my all-time favorite sets! Its unique retro style is so eye-catching and the illustrations are just fabulous.
Making this card was so much fun. I started from the background and die cut the word HAPPY several times from solid card stock. I chose bright shades and used Double-Cut Alphabet Die by Concord & 9th to cut the letters. I really like this die set – a double cut alphabet is really useful and versatile!
I glued the letter’s outlines side by side to create a colorful rainbow background and decided to fill some letters with their inner die cut parts.
I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used my Copic markers to color them.
But, before mounting the images on my card, I decided to soften the background colors and made my Flora critters stand out a little bit more. So I die cut a frame from a scrap of vellum, using Lacy Layers Die from Waffle Flower, and added it over the background.
Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold directly on the vellum frame and added some sparkling clear sequins as embellishment.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Happy crafting!
